[Bug 860968] Re: youtube-dl -t adds line feed (^J) to file names

2011-09-28 Thread Rogério Theodoro de Brito
Hi, Ian.

No problems. I will just close it, then. If you see the issue again,
please reopen it, instead of filing a new bug, so that we can keep the
history in context to facilitate fixing things.

Hopefully, you won't need it, but we never know. :)

BTW, I will be uploading a new version youtube-dl to my youtube-dl
repository. I will upload it to the maverick distribution, even though
it will work with any distribution. (I think that you might want to know
that).

Regards.

Hrm, I'm now unable to reproduce this. Call it a cosmic ray, character
encoding issue, or transient Amazon problem, you can close this and I'll
reopen if it happens again.

[Bug 860968] Re: youtube-dl -t adds line feed (^J) to file names

2011-09-28 Thread Rogério Theodoro de Brito
Hi, Ian.

Can you provide me with some example URL?

I am the maintainer of youtube-dl and I, personally, grab all my videos
with the -t option and never had any issue like this that you mentioned.

It is funny that this would happen, as the filter on characters are set
up to only allow what python returns as `string.digits` or
`string.ascii_letters`. There may be, though, some corner case with the
escaping of unicode characters, but I'm yet to see that.

Regards,

Rogério Brito.
