2012-02-22 Thread bitinerant
I am unable to reproduce this bug as described, but I can easliy
reproduce bug 938069 (marked as dup of this one) via:

  * open Trash
  * select View > Extra Pane (or press F3)
  * select Go > Home

I'll let the programmers decide if these are really the same issue.

[Bug 876049] Re: Opening extra pane causes current pane to be squished (gnome 3.2)

2011-10-17 Thread albert fishnets
As you can see, after i click on downloads, the files all get squished
into a right hand pane that is the same width as the icons. It does this
every time without fail. I tried reinstalling but it still happens out
of the box. it also happens on my Asus EEE 100he net book and on my
wife's macbook pro.

On my computer I've had it open up like this several times over the last
few days and it did it twice today while I was sorting files on my net
book at school. My wife says she hasn't had it open up like this yet.

It's really annoying when you are comparing directories in list view
because it cuts off the properties list on one side and you have to
manually adjusted it only to have it snap back every time you open a
file. I never have had this problem until installing 11.10. It happens
out of the box in Unity 3d and in Gnome 3.2 Shell after a fresh install.
Seems like it's probably just some super simple value that needs to be
adjusted in the code some where.

If I'd have to rate it, I'd say paper cuts level bug since it doesn't
expressly prohibit file operations, it just makes them extremely
frustrating.

Here is a before screen shot with both panes the same size. Clicking on
a directory in home triggers this bug consistently for me. Here I will
click on Downloads.

Forgot to mention this is likely upstream to Gnome or Nautilus because
it happens in Unity 3d, Unity 2d, Gnome 3, and Gnome classic.
