Public bug reported: My setup is an nvidia Quadro NVS 450 with three heads. My xorg.conf is set up to use Xinerama (not TwinView -- this card can't do TwinView on >2 heads, also I want to rotate two of the screens). This works fine with other desktops, and worked fine in 11.04. Lightdm works fine.
When Unity-2D launches, the screens end up in some bizarre mirroring mode, where all three screens are showing the same content (including launcher, menubar, app windows, etc). The mouse can roam freely across all three screens, but can only interact with the leftmost screen. The middle screen is bigger, so it shows a larger deskop. This is best explained by looking at the attached screenshot, and understanding that it's three monitors, side by side. I have tried using the "nvidia-current" and "nvidia-current-updates" drivers, as well as manually installing the latest nvidia drivers -- they all do the same thing. I tried nouveau, but couldn't get it to work at all. Again, non-Unity desktops work fine. (I don't use Unity-3D because of known incompatibilities with Xinerama and compiz. But now Unity-2D doesn't work either.)
