Public bug reported: After I unplugged my external monitor from my laptop, kwin didn't immediately notice and move windows over onto the laptop display. I tried telling the NVidia settings application that I had unplugged the monitor, and using the laptop's projector key, but neither way worked. Then when I logged out and logged in again, things got even worse - now no KDE panel or windows appeared after login - just the desktop. Rebooting and logging in again produced the same result.
