Public bug reported: I was trying to replace my broken Xubuntu 11.10 installation by a regular Ubuntu 11.10 by using the update option in the installer. I started it from the Ubuntu live image, being installed on a USB stick. When I do so, ubiquity freezes at the point "Kollidierende Systemdateien werden entfernt" (Colliding system files are being deleted) and won't respond anymore. The system keeps running though, and I can use other application from the live image without any problems.
