[Bug 89157] Re: Add account type 'Google Talk'
hey i had such problems too and with great difficulties compiled a small tutorial kinda thing for configuring gtalk on empathy for Ubuntu 9.10 and also shown how to use transport servers to talk to other IM contacts with your gtalk id itself please have a look at the url below. I hope it will help: http://gotshot.deviantart.com/journal/29762306 -- Add account type 'Google Talk' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89157 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 89157] Re: Add account type 'Google Talk'
Indeed, 'Google Talk' is just Jabber with the correct settings. So, if you have a Google Talk account, simply do not change the 'Advanced settings' and it should work. -- Add account type 'Google Talk' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89157 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 89157] Re: Add account type 'Google Talk'
Isn't the 'Google Talk' account type merely an alias for Jabber? -- Add account type 'Google Talk' https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/89157 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 89157] Re: Add account type 'Google Talk'
Upstream is not going to fix it, as they removed support for telepathy in gossip. empathy in gutsy might fix this though. It's known upstream, for example this bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=409498 The good solution is using the Mission Control spec, that's for the future... -- Add account type 'Google Talk' https://launchpad.net/bugs/89157 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
