[Bug 89603] Re: Synaptics touchpad won't work with Feisty Fawn

2008-01-23 Thread Pascal De Vuyst
ChrisM,
If you still have this problem with Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy) it is better to file a
new bug report and attach the information from
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingTouchpadDetection. Although in both cases your
touchpad do not work, the cause of your problem will likely be unrelated to the
cause of the problem of Robert because you have different laptop brands and
models.

would be nice to see this fix in feisty repos too, whatever it is.

[Bug 89603] Re: Synaptics touchpad won't work with Feisty Fawn

2007-04-22 Thread ChrisM
I don't know if this is important - My Thinkpad T60p has a trackstick
and a touchpad. I remember these to be working both with (k)Ubuntu 6.10.
With some update already with 6.10 the trackstick stopped working. As it
was not so important for me because I don't use it I did not follow this
problem. Now with the upgrade to (k)Ubuntu 7.04 the trackstick works
again but the touchpad stopped working.

With my Thinpad T60p the Touchpad also does not work since the Upgrade
from 6.10 to 7.04. In Xorg.0.log I find the following:

[Bug 89603] Re: Synaptics touchpad won't work with Feisty Fawn

2007-03-05 Thread Brian Murray
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description doesn't yet
have enough information.
Please include the following additional information, if you have not already
done so (please pay attention to lspci's additional options), as required by
the Ubuntu Kernel Team:
1. Please include the output of the command 'uname -a' in your next response.
It should be one, long line of text which includes the exact kernel version
you're running, as well as the CPU architecture.
2. Please run the command 'dmesg dmesg.log' and attach the resulting file
'dmesg.log' to this bug report.
3. Please run the command 'lspci -vvnn lspci-vvnn.log' and attach the
resulting file 'lspci-vvnn.log' to this bug report.
For your reference, the full description of procedures for kernel-related bug
reports is available at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelProblems . Thanks
in advance!
