[Bug 89712] Re: Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled
This same problem happened to me when I tried to burn Feisty Beta .iso from nautilus-cd-burner (the "Write to disk" option from the context menu over the .iso file). Then I tried to disable "Windows Wobble when Moved" and "Workspaces on a Cube" but didn't help either. Nautilus CD burner window appeared only after disabling Desktop Effects. BTW, I'm also running latest Feisty updates as of today. FWIW, I cannot confirm the Firefox behaviour described by Profusion. -- Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled https://launchpad.net/bugs/89712 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 89712] Re: Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled
Have also experienced this behavior in gqview. It is not consistent and I have not been able to reliably produce the effect, but I have seen it happen. I am using an intel 945 system with onboard intel graphics adapter. -- Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled https://launchpad.net/bugs/89712 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 89712] Re: Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled
I can confirm that is problem exists on current Feisty (as of 2007 03 17). I am using a Compaq Presario R3000z with a NVidia Geforce 440 Go using the nvidia proprietary driver. However I cannot predictable reproduce it using the method in the original report. It seems to be related to the window being maximized, especially if the program starts maximized (like firefox often does, because of common usage). It has happened to me on multiple different programs (gedit, firefox, gconf-editor, rhythmbox), so it is not specific to firefox. It seems like it might be a non-deterministic button like a timing bug (threading). Can anyone give any guidance on how to produce useful debug output from compiz to try to diagnose this bug? For the record, when I used compiz (and beryl) 3-4 months ago I never say this problem, so I don't think this is a fundamental problem in the software or a hardware incompatibility. -Arthur ** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info => Confirmed -- Invisible windows when desktop effects is enabled https://launchpad.net/bugs/89712 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
