[Bug 900963] Re: [CA0106 - CA0106] No sound (suddenly - used to work OK)

2011-12-08 Thread wing
ok. solved the problem.

don't know if it's a bug or not.

resolved by muting S/PDIF with alsamixer
I'm not a hw expert, but i guess it's digital out (I have analogue speakers).

But I'm 100% sure I haven't done anything with this setting before - and
it's a single-user computer.

So it might be something that some update or smt switches on.

Thanks for Your attention.

[Bug 900963] Re: [CA0106 - CA0106] No sound (suddenly - used to work OK)

2011-12-07 Thread wing
Did all the updates (incl new kernel, 2.6.35-31-generic atm) - didn't help.
rechecked all the settings, nothing seems to be wrong.
replaced speakers with headphones - no change
tried dualboot to winXP - everything works as a charm, so hardware is ok.

[Bug 900963] Re: [CA0106 - CA0106] No sound (suddenly - used to work OK)

2011-12-06 Thread Phil. V
Thanks for your bug report. I'll package this against alsa-driver so
someone more familiar with debugging sound issues can take a look at
this. I have one suggestion, though. It couldn't hurt to download and
install those updates, just to rule that out.

** Package changed: ubuntu = alsa-driver (Ubuntu)
