[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2012-05-14 Thread Stepan Roucka
I ran the ubuntu-bug xorg and the output is
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/999191

It started happening after upgrading to ubuntu 12.04. Several times a
day, the gnome session crashes and drops me to GDM. This happens with
Unity and gnome shell. It doesn't happen with unity-2d.

Part of the syslog output:

May 14 17:17:01 CRON[15229]: (root) CMD ( cd / run-parts --report
/etc/cron.hourly)

[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2012-04-29 Thread Rick Horowitz
I'm having the same problem on Ubuntu 12.04, just installed yesterday.
Multiple gnome-session crashes since then, which kick me out of my user
session. I'm happy to post more information if someone will give me some
guidance on what may be helpful and and how to obtain it.

From syslog:

[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2012-03-15 Thread Peter Quiring
I get this with Ubuntu 12.04 beta 1.

Usually happens when starting any Flash component (I use Chromium) - including
YouTube videos or flash games.
Also happens while using NetBeans sometimes.

Very annoying.

[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2012-03-01 Thread Jas McQuest
Outside of playing a utube video, it happens when scrolling in firefox
using the mouse roller, and perhaps it is only when I scroll quickly.
Perhaps X can't talk to OpenGL sometimes becaues the board is backed
up. I wonder what call is generating returning the EAGAIN? Perhaps I
can build a debug version of the X server, or cause it to fault after
such error messages so I could get a trackback to where the problem was
generated?

2012-02-29 Thread Jas McQuest
I think I can reproduce it at will now by playing a utube video in
firefox. An unusual thing about my system is though I am using an
nvidia 8800GT which is plenty fast enough for Unity compositing, it has
only 128MB of memory.

2012-02-29 Thread Jas McQuest
18 times over the past week for me. Haven't lost any work yet. But its
going to happen, right?

It has usually happened when I was in firefox. Will observe under what
conditions. Do you need more people to run app-port-collect? I could
learn how to do that if needed.

Its a shame that it exits... I wonder whether it retries at all?

[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2011-12-27 Thread Timur Melnikov
apport information

** Description changed:

Sometimes, when running Ubuntu 11.10 spontaneously terminates the user
session. Fortunately, it only seems to happen once per boot-up - after
the first spontaneous logout, it doesn't happen again within the re-
logged session, regardless of how many hours I use it. In previous
versions - 10.04, 10.10, 11.04 nothing like this has happened.

In /var/log/syslog takes place the following error: Gdk-WARNING:
gnome-session: Fatal IO error 11 (Resource temporarily unavailable) on X
server: 0. # 012

[Bug 907383] Re: Spontaneously eject from the session

2011-12-23 Thread Tyler Hicks
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.
