Public bug reported: 1) Open a document, paste some blocks into it (U+2588 FULL BLOCK) and arrange them into a nice pattern with spaces. 2) Open Replace dialog, enter a single space into the Find box, and paste U+2591 LIGHT SHADE into the Replace box. 3) Check "Replace all at once" and click "Find and Replace". 4) Mousepad performs the replace, but inserts a space after each of the LIGHT SHADE characters. 5) After doing this, you can use different characters in the replace box, which used to work normally, and it will still add a space after each one. The only way to correct it is to restart the program.
I copied the box characters from gucharmap, if that makes a difference. $ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.04 Release: 11.04 $ apt-cache policy mousepad mousepad: Installed: 0.2.16-4ubuntu1 Candidate: 0.2.16-5ubuntu1 Version table: 0.2.16-5ubuntu1 0 500 http://ubuntu.mirror.cambrium.nl/ubuntu/ precise/universe amd64 Packages *** 0.2.16-4ubuntu1 0 500 http://ca.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty/universe amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: mousepad 0.2.16-4ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-13.53-generic 2.6.38.8 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-13-generic x86_64 Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Dec 24 23:32:39 2011 InstallationMedia: Xubuntu 11.04 "Natty Narwhal" - Release amd64 (20110426.1) ProcEnviron: LANGUAGE=en_CA:en PATH=(custom, no user) LANG=en_CA.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: mousepad UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) ** Affects: mousepad (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug natty -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908512 Title: Character U+2591 LIGHT SHADE breaks search and replace To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mousepad/+bug/908512/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
