Steps to reproduce:
1) Fresh Ubuntu 11.10 install, nvidia driver (hardware details see attached
files)
2) All updates (11.1.2012)
3) New user profile, no changed settings of any kind
4) Wait a few minutes until the screen becomes black
5) Move your mouse - the mouse pointer appears, but the rest of the screen
stays black
Workaround:
Disable screen saver / screen standby in energy settings.
