Public bug reported: The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd, feisty herd5) mounts ntfs-partitions to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1).
It is not straightforward to change this mountpoint - the only possibility is to change the partition type temporarily to ext3 (or xfs or whatever) so that the mountpoint can be changed (e.g. /media/windows). After changing the partition type back to ntfs everything works fine. A simple and minor bug which should be easily fixable. Btw: Wouldn't it be nice if windows partitions would be bound to /media/windows (1, 2, 3, etc.) by default, so that new users wouldn't be puzzled by these cryptic device names? ** Affects: Ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed ** Description changed: - The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd) mounts ntfs-partitions - to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1). + The kubuntu-installer (from the live-desktop-cd, feisty herd5) mounts + ntfs-partitions to /media/devicename (e.g. /media/hda1).
