Same problem here in Feisty, 2.6.20-13-generic kernel. My HDs are mounted in /media but don't show on the desktop and in places menu. My fstab is identical to the one I had in edgy. Seems like the problem has something to do with defaults in fstab. Any partitions mounted with the "defaults" option will not show up on the desktop. Same problem here. Pen drives, memory cards and dvds are shown in the desktop, but my 2 fat partitions aren't. Same problem here. I also had the same problem. My drive mounted fine on Edgy, but upon upgrading to Feisty, it no longer mounts to the desktop. I too am still able to access my drive through /media.
