[Bug 93901] Re: [apport] compiz.real crashed with SIGSEGV in outputDeviceForWindow()
I just experienced this crash. I installed Tribe3 (alternate version) which went fine. After the reboot, I tried logging in, got a blank screen and couldn't use Ctrl + Alt F1 to go to a terminal. Had to reset and boot into a terminal. Apt-get update and upgrade. Logged in. Compiz.real crashed. It got replaced automatically by a working window manager (metacity). Yes, I can confirm the fix. I've reproduced the error (by activating "enable desktop effects"), then upgraded, then retried and it didn't crash but simply say that it can't enable the desktop effects.
