[Bug 939434] Re: Xnest and Xephyr stopped working after recent update (corrupted mem)
Ken Pratt, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com /daily-live/current/ . If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report: apport-collect -p xorg-server REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful. Thank you for your understanding. [Bug 939434] Re: Xnest and Xephyr stopped working after recent update (corrupted mem)
Seeing the same thing here too. Upgraded a virtual-machine to 12.04, and now when I try to connect to it from an 11.10 system via XDMCP I get the same crash $sudo Xnest :2 -query work-vm.local [dix] Could not init font path element /usr/share/fonts/X11/cyrillic, removing from list! *** glibc detected *** Xnest: free(): corrupted unsorted chunks: 0x0236daf0 *** === Backtrace: = /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(+0x7a6e6)[0x7f0364a066e6] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(cfree+0x6c)[0x7f0364a0a9cc] Xnest(SrvXkbResizeKeyType+0x63d)[0x4d866d] Xnest[0x4b7ded] Xnest[0x4bac38] Xnest[0x4f79d9] Xnest[0x419aee] /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xed)[0x7f03649ad30d] Xnest[0x419ddd] Its interesting that the crash happens on 11.10, the only thing that chaged is the xdmcp server was upgraded to 12.04. Connecting to a 11.10 machine works fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/939434 Title: Xnest and Xephyr stopped working after recent update (corrupted mem) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/939434/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
