Confirm.
Gamma is set to 0.100 after screensaver. Using restricted ATI driver (fglrx). 
Screensaver is Blank.

fix:
$ xgamma -gamma 1.0
-> Red  0.100, Green  0.100, Blue  0.100
<- Red  1.000, Green  1.000, Blue  1.000

This seems to be trigger by the glx module.
When I updated to xorg_1:7.2-0ubuntu8, glx stopped working and now the 
screensaver doesn't mess up gamma correction.
