Public bug reported:

this happens every time i try to play  video regardless of which video player i 
try to use. i have totem,vlc and miro installed and as soon as the video tries 
to play i am logged out. also whenever i log in the screen breaks up into 
stripes for nearly a minute as the desktop is loading. i hope someone can find 
a solution to this.
