This package is not in Ubuntu. "In Progress" means that the assigned persion is working on fixing this bug. Have you had any further afforts to package a stable version of mms? I have seen that there is mms-ng? "In Progress" ?? That idea is not a good idea ;) Development of MMS has nearly stopped right now! I'm even having problems packaging it for my PPA cause of missing em8300-headers in Ubuntu/Debian.
