Public bug reported: I'm running Ubuntu 11.04 on a Dell XPS 15 L502x laptop.
What I expect to happen: when pressing the Fn+F4 key combination, backlight brightness should be decreased by one level and notify-osd should display a notification. What actually happens: whenever I decrease brightness of the display with the Fn+F4 key combination, the following message pops up: "Thunderbird is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Thunderbird process, or restart your system." regardless of whether or not it's actually running. The brightness is stepped down, however the desktop notification is not shown and if I need to bring it several steps down, several messages will pop up. Reproducible every time. Conversely, increasing brightness (Fn+F5) works fine, and notify-osd displays a notification with the current brightness level. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/952100 Title: "Thunderbird is already running" message appears when decreasing brightness of a laptop display To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/952100/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
