*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 73840 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/73840 The reason this happens is because Debian actually removed the info files from their package, and Ubuntu synced their bad changes. Marking this as a duplicate of the bug I filed on this issue. On feisty, AMD64, the info files for emacs itself are not present! this means that emacs is no longer self documented! Normally the command: C-h i gives the info menu, then you look for an Emacs entry, and when you find it, zap: file not found. this is a catastrophe for developers, but probably easily fixed. It looks to me like the file: /usr/share/info/dir is messsed up.
