Public bug reported: I upgraded in the last day or so, and a previously solid Ubuntu 12.04 install, has gone down hill fast.
If I am using an application (for example chrome as I write this) everything is fine. If I try and use anything involving unity (the dash, the global menu, the app switcher) I get lots of flickering. With dash, you can see chunks of the application underneath flickering, and as best I can tell, this is the same for the launcher and the global menu. I'm not really sure where to start in terms of debug for this. Except to say I am using a Samsung NC10 which has the following graphics controller: unity: Installed: 5.8.0-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 5.8.0-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 5.8.0-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/main i386 Packages 500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise-proposed/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GSE Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) 00:02.1 Display controller: Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03) ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: unity -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/963514 Title: Lots of graphics glitches when using dash (and other components) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/963514/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
