[Bug 96870] Re: 2.6.20-13 breaks internal SD card reader and suspend to memory

2008-08-28 Thread Leann Ogasawara
The Ubuntu Kernel Team is planning to move to the 2.6.27 kernel for the
upcoming Intrepid Ibex 8.10 release. As a result, the kernel team would
appreciate it if you could please test this newer 2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel.
There are one of two ways you should be able to test:

1) If you are comfortable installing packages on your own, the linux-
image-2.6.27-* package is currently available for you to install and
test.

--or--

2) The upcoming Alpha5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 will contain this newer
2.6.27 Ubuntu kernel. Alpha5 is set to be released Thursday Sept 4.
Please watch http://www.ubuntu.com/testing for Alpha5 to be announced.
You should then be able to test via a LiveCD.

Please let us know immediately if this newer 2.6.27 kernel resolves the
bug reported here or if the issue remains. More importantly, please
open a new bug report for each new bug/regression introduced by the
2.6.27 kernel and tag the bug report with 'linux-2.6.27'. Also, please
specifically note if the issue does or does not appear in the 2.6.26
kernel. Thanks again, we really appreicate your help and feedback.

[Bug 96870] Re: 2.6.20-13 breaks internal SD card reader and suspend to memory

2007-11-09 Thread Aspic
Until now, my SD card Transcend 2Go wasn't automounted on my Dell Laptop
Inspiron 9300. (Not on Gutsy, not on Feisty. The last time it worked, it
was on Edgy !!

Yesterday, I found the reason : Ubuntu can't automount my SD card 2.0 Go if it
is not formatted in FAT32 mode.
Hard to find... and possibly a problem, as APN, Pocket PC and Palm don't all
support the standard SD 2.0. Though they format the card in FAT16 mode.

At least my SD card work !
If yours isn't automounted, try to format it in a different mode (FAT16 or
FAT32).

I recently experienced the same regression with my Ricoh card reader. I
should add that the device is being created successfully. It's just not
being mounted automatically. 'sudo mount /dev/mmcblk0p1 /mnt' allows me
to access my data on my SD card.

2007-04-06 Thread Ben Collins
If you are going to work on kernel bug reports, then please read:

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeamBugPolicies

Do not set the Confirmed state without following the policies.

This bug does not have enough information to determine if it is
confirmed, or even the severity of the issue.

Please attach (do not paste into comment) the output of dmesg from both
-12 and -13 kernels (attach separately, do no cat together or tar).

Thanks

Unfortunately, the above just repeats when trying with -12.

Does this make another bug; could it be udev/gnome-volume-manager
