It's been happening less recently since I discovered that my swap was corrupted and repaired it. Apparently there was some connection between heavy memory use and the frequent crashes. I actually tried uploading the crash report, but it was too large and I got an application error on bug management server when I tried. (66 MB gzipped.) Thank you Mike, but you need to get the backtrace. Once all the stuff gets loaded in gdb, you have to type 'backtrace', hence the backtrace will dump. Seems from your log that you let gdb to load everything but you missed to type the command to get the backtrace before typing 'quit' If is not too disturbing to you, please re-run gdb. Mike you might want to retrace it yourself. Just apt-get install the firefox-dbg package (and any other dbg package you feel it might be needed from gdb's output). I've twice tried to send a core dump, and both times it crashed the launchpad software. I suspect that the problem is the size of the file: over 50 MB. If I can upload it any other way, I'll do so, or even dig through the core dump myself if it would help.
