Jason, there is a bug here but only for those who had their theme set to the Contest set. That set was renamed. I filed this against gnome-shell, but I just applied today's updates to a VM with Unity: After installing the updates, the Unity bar (and dash, when exposed) turned purple. After a reboot, the wallpaper was now black. Grah, I just realized I have a completely new set of wallpapers. I guess that's why they went missing.
