It seems that this is connected to a wider problem: OpenOffice doesn't handle the bold face of some fonts correctly. I've tried with Arial and Arial Unicode MS. First works, second doesn't in bold face. Note that the bug status has changed from confirmed -> In progress. The OpenOffice bugs site itself has set target for the fix in OO.org 2.3. I have a similar problem, using the "glossy" template, the graphics in the "title bar" area of the template are not exported correctly to pdf. Again, easy to reproduce, createa new presentation using the "glossy" template, add some text to the tiltle area, save, and then export as PDF. The output will be incorrect.
