[Bug 980168] Re: Applications not assigned to workspaces

2012-08-18 Thread Bilal Akhtar
Jimmy reports that this is no longer of an issue.

Osprey, can you check if this is still an issue with the latest updates
on a guest session of Unity? It's highly probable this has been fixed
since the report was made.

After the release I did fresh install and it is no longer a problem, so
I won't be able to provide any more help.

appears in the app-switcher and miss the triangle in the launcher.

Thank you for your bug report, unity got 3 new versions since you report
this bug, is that still an issue? Do you use unity-3d or unity-2d? Is
that specific to libreoffice?

[Bug 980168] Re: Applications not assigned to workspaces

2012-04-23 Thread jimmy
I've just updated all packages and it is still an issue. I use 3d
unity, and it's not LO specific. It happens also with other apps (like
JDownloader, VLC, Virtualbox etc.) but never with firefox or
Thunderbird. I don't know if it has something to do with the fact that I
have firefox and thunderbird on launcher or with something else. Hope
the info is helpful.

[Bug 980168] Re: Applications not assigned to workspaces

2012-04-23 Thread jimmy
This might be helpful: I removed thunderbird from launcher and run it and It is
not assigned to the workspace.
So:
-it happens with apps that are not added to launcher
-switching to other workspace and then switching back repairs the state of the
apps.
It should help tracking the problem.

could you describe the exact steps you do after login to get to the
issue or maybe use gtk-recordmydesktop to do a screencast?

Nothing just hit Super key (or dash icon) type app's name and hit
enter... here is the screencast.

Could you try turning it on again and see if that fixes your issue? Not
having it is known to break unity in several way (there is a reason it's
not a supported option in the ui)
