I'm seeing the same thing. For me, it's an old Jabber account that doesn't work any more. I can delete it in empathy, but after I restart empathy, it's back again. You need to add a GNOME Online Account + an empathy account for the same account (MSN or Google Talk). Yes the bug is reproducible for me? As described above I don't know how this this specific account has been created.
