It is well possible to open links in the default browser, but it requires manual configuration of liferea. This should not be the case. I did the following: Under Tools/Settings/Browser choose 'Broser:' 'Firefox', which is the system default browser, 'Open-Link-in:''Browser-default'. Using Xubuntu 12.04.1 by the way, no system-upgrades were done on this system, the overall-imression is that it is quite well pollishedand likeable, this issue as an exception. Sorry, I said this bug affects me but I later realized it was just a problem with a custom apparmor profile I have. It now works again. I don't know what happened; it took several reboots.
