Ah!
I notice that I have addon Firetray 0.4.1 installed.
In Unity it may have less value than previously and it is supposed to be active
at the shutdown events.
I have disabled Firetray, and the problem apparently ceases, thunderbird shuts
down ok.
So this does not seem like a thunderbird package problem, more like an addon
non compatibility of
Firetray 0.4.1
I hav eedited the bug title adding
'Addon Firetray culprit'
Please advise on bug status, validity etc?
