[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher from Nautilus

2013-10-07 Thread Rael
I'm facing this problem. I'm using 12.04, with hidden launcher, and
while trying drag files from Nautilus to launcher, it (launcher) is not
un-hiding. So, the file cannot be dropped to the launcher itself (or to
other applications).

[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher from Nautilus

2012-05-16 Thread nZain
New info: Dragging files/desktop entries from Desktop works as expected,
so this is only relevant when dragging desktop entries from nautilus to
the hidden launcher.

I have edited the description to correctly reflect this - very special
and not too important - issue.

** Summary changed:

- cannot drag drop to autohide launcher
+ cannot drag drop to autohide launcher from Nautilus

[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher

2012-05-08 Thread Fernando López
I don't think I have exactly the same problem first described here. I
rather can't simply drag a new item to the launcher except the ones
included with ubuntu 12 (upgraded flawlessly from 11.11). I don't know
whether this is a bug or not.

For instance, I just downloaded Sublime 2 text editor, then I tried to
place it in the launcher as a new item. So I first tried dragging the
program directly it to the the launcher and also creating a link to the
app prior to that, but the launcher just gets dark and nothing else
happens, I mean I could not place it to the launcher (no matter how it
is its behavior, both autohide on and off, it won't work).

I also tried starting the application so it's showed in the launcher and
then right-click and select Lock to Launcher, then I close the app.
That worked, in so far the app indeed stuck its icon to the launcher but
then the app won't ever start when I click on it.

Help needed please :)

reverted to unity(5.10.0-0ubuntu6) and the situation is the same.
Sometimes (typically the first time I try), it works... and from then on
I'm unable to reproduce.

[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher

2012-04-30 Thread Omer Akram
I am using unity 5.12 from precise-proposed repository and the issue
does not seem to happen for me. Can you please test with that version of
Unity and let us know of the situation.

[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher

2012-04-30 Thread nZain
Using precise-proposed unity 5.12 now. Little bit weird, I'm pretty sure
I was able to drag a folder out of nautilus to the hidden launcher
(which opened as expected) ONLY on the first try. I didn't drop the
folder and its really hot here - so I'm not 100% sure, gonna log out
try again.

Otherwise the behavior is unchanged - drag drop only from Desktop, not
from nautilus.

2012-04-30 Thread nZain
Interesting. I'm unable to reproduce, but sometimes it works (not due to
sensitivity) and most times it doesn't. Typically the launcher opens
when i drag back into nautilus window (not maximized), so eventually
this is about focus?

[Bug 991993] Re: cannot drag drop to autohide launcher

2012-04-30 Thread nZain
when I drag a file, then press super - which correctly opens the
launcher - then move the file over the launcher... it behaves squishy
and hides. It doesn't like my files, eh? :)

When I drop fast enough, the desktop entry stays in the launcher.
