Not that I know of. I downloaded the beta when the kernel was .12 (now .15) I have kept the machine on daily updates. Machine is a plain semperon 1700+, nvidia agp 660gt Problem occurs regularly enough that I decided to report it. The problem seems to be time related - i.e. machine is idle, gone to screensaver but to standby or hibernation etc. Basically I can have the machine just sitting there with evolution. Everything works properly (I can load apps no problems and move them to other desks) but when I switch to another desk, there are no panels - balloon messages can appear (new song or email received) but I cannot click on the panel to see what it happening. I can alt+tab between open windows but I cannot get to menu's to do anything else. only way around this that I have found so far is, ctrl+alt+backspace or ctrl+alt+f1 and do a shutdown from the console. as a test to see if I have compiz, I ran it from a user xterm with --replace. it works but menu's have disappeared and I cannot close active windows without compiz now running. information - checked system - did have some desktop effects enabled. now turned off. will advise if system locks from now on. question - ix the xgl server better?
