Because the bug is also in Windows. To reproduce the bug, it is essential to first attempt to display a menu in full screen mode. E.g. press Alt+F, then leave full screen mode and try Alt+F again. Btw, it would be nice if menus did work in full screen mode - I can't see why they should be disabled, as it's just inconvenient sometimes.) I have clearer answer as to when the bug occurs. It seems that if I try to open a menu while in full screen mode (e.g. by pressing Alt+F) then nothing happens; I then come out of full screen mode, but that menu will be the one that does not display, while the other menus operate normally.
