Do you want to take care about having apt-torrent well packaged and ready for hardy? it would be nice to have a page on REVU for this so I can start reviewing it a bit. If not interested in packaging it yourself, just let me know so I can move on doing it. Maybe the author would like to do it? If the only supported distro is Debian Sid, we just don't package this for Ubuntu. Kristian, what do you think? Cameron might be right, but even if the top 100 packages included the kernel and other very large packages, then it would save a lot of bandwidth of course. I think it would be great to get this modified and packaged for Ubuntu, but we may need the author's help to do that. What do you think? I think it is a great idea. The point is to minimize the repository load for Canonical, not just for ISO release, but for the package updates during and after release as well. I actually think it would be more efficient than trying to route people based on their location. Torrent protocol does that automatically for you :-) It would be a cool feature. If it really works, think about the impact of having a simple GUI option to enable this at some tested point off in the future -- which would really make a Ubuntu cutting-edge, peer-oriented support structure. It would help Canonical save lots of money too... -- Kristian Erik Hermansen -- [needs-packaging] apt-torrent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153752 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

In the official site (http://sianka.free.fr/spip.php?rubrique3) there is a .deb, can we make a simple sync from this? 2007/10/18, Cesare Tirabassi [EMAIL PROTECTED]: ** Changed in: ubuntu Importance: Undecided = Wishlist Status: New = Confirmed -- [needs-packaging] apt-torrent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153752 You received this bug notification because you are a member of MOTU Torrent, which is a direct subscriber. -- Maurizio Moriconi System Administrator Università di Roma La Sapienza -- [needs-packaging] apt-torrent https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/153752 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
