Seems like you got the wrong person, my name is Shea Kang and I don't know
who might David be. I do remember having sound issues early on, but a string
of updates later I no longer face this problem. You might need to follow up
with David though.

Bug description:
Sound was working fine with the standard Hardy kernel, but with the 2.6.27
kernel from Intrepid (and everything else unchanged) it breaks as follows:
after playing any sound, the sound crackles and hisses, and won't stop -
even if I run /etc/init.d/pulseaudio restart.
