I've done both, boot from /dev/sda10 which was set up to boot as a live image from the iso, and also from writing a CD and booting from an actual CD Rom.? Both got the same failure, at least produced the same? visible error message.? I can write an actual CD with the latest build tomorrow and try again.? The Compaq will boot from USB however I haven't tried install on that to see if it gets the same failure or not; if it would be informative I could try.

It appears that that is the device that's actually mounted on /cdrom (or at least that is my best guess). Did you write a CD image directly to that partition at some point? -- jaunty Xubuntu Alpha 3 manual install fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318485 You received this bug notification because you are a direct subscriber of the bug. -- jaunty Xubuntu Alpha 3 manual install fails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/318485 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
