Go to System--Administration--Synaptic Package Manager and click the Reload button. then was able to download packages again. While I had Synaptic open, went to Edit--Mark Packages By Task, a window will pop up, just scroll down to Video Creation And Editing Suite and marked it for installation; I believe this installed most of the programs I need for what I want to do. at least this report shows I am able to use this PC for 8.10 operations. * Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu * Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu * Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu This is most likely a transient problem, please try again later.
