I find that there are situations that call for Windows because of work related issues and times that Call for Linux for problem solving all of those issues that arrive in Windows. I am now typing this on kde plasma ubuntu 12.04. The reason I continue using Windows because many of my external and internal customer and people indirectly involved in my dealings used Windows software. Yes, I like Ubuntu and android but I hate fragmentation. I had been using Windows for many years and Windows office products. Windows 7 is the better side of Windows since Windows 98. I don't use Windows 8 even though it is said to be much improved and I hated Vista. Windows 7 is okay, but I can't see why you would think it would be lighter than Ubuntu by any significant margin... it's not. If you want a lighter Ubuntu use Lubuntu. It is based off of LXDE and WAY lighter than Windows 7. Plus, if you use Windows 7 you get dem viruses and Big Brother Microsoft to deal with. Not fun. If you're switching distros because Ubuntu is too heavy, switch to Arch Linux, unless you're not very tech-savvy.
