thanks for responding. The bug is quite easily reproducible. Here is 
what I did:

I prepared a plain file with 10 comments:

lulu:/vm> cat input.txt
Comment #1
Comment #2
Comment #3
Comment #4
Comment #5
Comment #6
Comment #7
Comment #8
Comment #9
Comment #10
lulu:/vm>

The I copied /usr/share/doc/shared-mime-info/shared-mime-info-spec.pdf 
in my working directory. I then opened the file with evince and did 10 
annotations always using cut + paste. Finally I hovered with the mouse 
over the annotations to assure they were all in place. This was the case.

I then saved the file as shared-mime-info-spec-with-10-annots.pdf, which 
you will find enclosed.

As you will see, comments #1, #2, #3 and #10 are fine. All other 
annotations have zero contents.
