[Bug 102783] Backlight not auto adjusting to power mode change
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager Running a fully up to date Feisty on a Compaq F503AU. Experiencing a small issue with power management in that when I remove AC power my backlight will not automatically dim. However if I suspend my laptop and wake it back up it will then detect there is no AC power and dim the backlight. Same for the reverse - if I now plug in AC power it wont automatically brighten the backlight, however if I suspend and wake again, it will detect there is AC power and brighten the backlight. So it seems its only really checking when waking up? I haven't tried Edgy on this laptop before so not sure if its a new bug. The battery applet pops up and notifies me Im running on battery power so it's obviously detecting it fine. Function keys to increase/decrease backlight work flawlessly (so its no biggy to manually readjust), as does suspend/resume - so very nearly 100% on the ACPI front for this laptop :) btw happy to upload any relevant logs or output of commands. ** Affects: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Backlight not auto adjusting to power mode change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/102783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

GUYS, PLEASE STOP HIJACKING EXISTING BUG REPORTS! IF YOU ARE HAVING PROBLEMS BOOTING WITH MDADM, LVM2, EVMS OR DEVMAPPER PLEASE ! FILE ! A ! NEW ! BUG ! If somebody else has already filed a new bug, DO NOT hijack it, please FILE ANOTHER NEW ONE. We have had several separate, different, problems and many of those are fixed -- you may be hijacking a bug where the original submitter actually has a different underlying problem than you. Attempts to comment on fixed bugs relating to this, or reopen those, will be ignored. This is not a major thing to ask; we want to get all the problems fixed, and the best way you can help us do that is to file your own, unique, bug so we are aware of ALL of the problems and can examine each of them independently without the confusion of someone else with a different problem being louder in the report. ** Changed in: initramfs-tools (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released ** Changed in: lvm2 (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Fix Released ** Changed in: udev (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Fix Released -- linux software RAID not working after herd 3 installation.. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/83231 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 63123] Re: battery info fans do not work after hibernate (HP nw8240)
With 2.6.20-14 kernel, fans started to work after resume. I still have the problem with ac adapter/battery status after resume, but this is now limited to only the following case: - hibernate while mains powered (AC adapter online) - resume while only battery powered (without AC adapter) - battery % will get decreased, but lshal will claim battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = false - now attach AC adapter - it is properly detected and battery.rechargeable.is_charging = true - now disconnect AC adapter - it is properly detected as battery.rechargeable.is_discharging = true Not sure if we can wake up battery status after resume somehow... I have tried several upstream fixes (particularly aafbcd165a2a02e6dff173f66772b3148229ace8 looked promising), but they did not help Karianne: do fans work fr you with 2.6.20-14 kernel? -- battery info fans do not work after hibernate (HP nw8240) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/63123 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 38203] Re: 40-permissions.rules includes non-existent groups
Patch to udev-108 to remove references from rules.d/40-permissions.rules. Please apply this minorly trivial fix to udev. Seriously, why has this bug been in this state for a year? If I'm making a change to several thousand machines so that they boot correctly, it leaves the realm of 'trivial to fix' and goes straight to 'upstream, please sort this out'.
