[Bug 572651] Re: Ubuntu One semi-/not connected...
hjkooy The workaround 'u1sdtool -q; killall ubuntuone-login; u1sdtool -c' was for people upgrading to Lucid that were experiencing a bug. You should not have to do that. Also the Preferences panel located in the 'Me Menu' is on the newer version in Lucid or the Beta/PPA. Lets try and get your computer added. Can you try the following and let us know the results. 1. Quit the Ubuntu One client 2. Open Applications-Accessories-Passwords and Encryption Keys 3. Click on the arrow next to Passwords 4. Right-click on the Ubuntu One token and select Delete 5. Go to https://one.ubuntu.com/account/machines/ 6. Click on the checkbox next to your computer 7. Click the Remove selected computers button 8. Open Applications-Internet-Ubuntu One 9. a web page should open, prompting you to add your computer to your Ubuntu One account 10. Add your computer You should be connected after you follow these steps. If you are not connected, can you please attach the following files to this bug report? ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/oauth-login.log ~/.cache/ubuntuone/log/syncdaemon-exceptions.log Thank you, duanedesign -- Ubuntu One semi-/not connected... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/572651 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

After you make a comment and/or attach logs you can change the 'Status' of your bug back to 'New'. The status of a bug report can be modified by clicking on the current status in the yellow line, which will reveal a sub menu. You can then set a new status in the drop down box. ** Changed in: ubuntuone-client (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- Ubuntu One semi-/not connected... https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/572651 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 571369] Re: gWaei 1.2.1 segfaults on any action (lucid_x64)
Hi, I'm the upstream programmer of gWaei. This was fixed in gWaei 1.3 when I was informed of it on Fedora (which runs the same version of gtk). Getting and setting the gtk_buildable names using gtk_widget_set_name was depricated in gtk which is causing the problem. I haven't been able to get in contact with the package container on this yet. gWaei 1.4 should be released this week. Both of those newer versions do not have this problem. [Bug 574069] Re: [Lucid] Loading nvidia-settings hurts compiz performance
** Description changed: Binary package hint: nvidia-settings As per this forum post: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1469528 In a nutshell, when nvidia-settings --load-config-only is run on startup (which is a default action), compiz performance becomes rather terrible. This has been confirmed on both fresh install and upgrade. The workaround is to disable the action on startup. However, manually going to the nvidia-settings program will bring compiz down to its knees again (at least in my case: I believe another person had no problem). Also, nautilus memory keeps increasing, eventually leading to system being unresponsive. * The files that I have are very big ( 300MB).. but here's the link from where i downloaded them : http://www.archive.org/details/arsdigita_02_discrete_math Go to the Video Files sections on the left, download some files and put them in a directory. [Bug 555881] Re: Crash during install of grub in 10.04 beta1
I now can't get past this error while installing the release version of Kubuntu 10.04. I have a separate /boot partition that I did not wish to format during installation in case something went wrong. The drive has partitions for Windows, swap, /home, /usr/local, and two partitions for the operating systems. One is occupied by 9.10, the other was created to hold 10.04. The first time I ran the installer everything worked as expected with the 10.04 kernel images added to the grub menu. However I need to reinstall after making some manual changes to the authentication files in /etc that seemed to cause problems for dbus. All subsequent attempts to install following the same procedure as before now results in the ubiquity error during the installation of grub. -- Crash during install of grub in 10.04 beta1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/555881 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 445849] Re: Highpitched Rattling like Sound with 5.1 Surround Configuration on Karmic Koala
I finally get rid of this annoying sound problem! After testing a LOT of different configurations, this is what it worked for me: 1) Set profile to Analog Surround 5.1 Output + Analog Stereo Input 2) Replace volume = merge with volume = ignore in *ALL* elements (including masters sections) of files analog-output-speaker.conf, analog-output.conf, analog-output-desktop-speaker.conf and EVEN in PCM section of analog-output.conf.common (all of them located in /usr/share/pulseaudio/alsa-mixer/paths/). 3) enable-lfe-remixing = yes in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf 4) Restart PulseAudio 5) Use alsamixer (or Gnome ALSA Mixer) to set desired volumes for Master, PCM, Front, Surround, Center and LFE. 5) That's it! Btw, I'm using a Creative SBLive!(EMU10K1) with pulseaudio 0.9.21-63-gd3efa-dirty Ubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04 amd64, kernel 2.6.32-21-generic (recently upgraded from karmic 9.10). I think this workaround *virtually* bypasses all PA controls (like balance, fade, subwoofer and also front, rear and center faders) but this is hardly a problem for me since the annoying rattling highpitched sound seems to be REALLY GONE FOR GOOD, and I can alternatively use alsamixer to set individual volumes for each channel if I wanted to, and PA volume control works like a big MASTER fader. That been said, I noticed that Master and PCM controls are kind-of mixed up in alsamixer. Both faders seems to control the same source, but in some strange way (I think this has something to do with what Daniel said about the for-now-missing separate mixer path file). First of all, Master is not *really* master, but more like a Front-Left +Front-Right stereo mix and, of course, the same happens with PCM. Then, if ONLY one of those faders are down, the ENTIRE FL+FR mix gets muted, but if both faders are up (to 100%, for example), the FL+FR mix gets amplified beyond the overall 5.1 mix (and not just (logically?) doubled, but more like it only gets a 30 to 50% boost). In fact, keeping that in mind, I discovered that setting Front, Surround, Center and LFE to 100% in alsamixer and both Master and PCM close to 80%, gets me a pretty good balance between voice (center) and music/soundeffects in 5.1 movies (and also better overall sound for stereo music/sound files). Well, thats all for now. I'm very happy with my new working 5.1 setup :) Thanks to all *positive* comments from above that helps me A LOT. Hope this can help others and, of course, let me know if there's something else I can do... -- Highpitched Rattling like Sound with 5.1 Surround Configuration on Karmic Koala https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/445849 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 574434] [NEW] mvnDebug cannot find classworlds-1.1.jar
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: maven2 /usr/bin/mvnDebug is a shell script that searches for classworlds-*.jar in $M2_HOME. This fails because - the maven2 package does not set M2_HOME to any value - the maven2 package has renamed classworlds-1.1.jar to classworlds.jar, located in /usr/share/maven2/boot As a result, there is no easy way to get mvnDebug to work on Lucid. The workaround I did to get it to work is as follows, but a more robust solution is probably in order: - export M2_HOME=/usr/share/maven2 - ln -s /usr/share/maven2/boot/classworlds.jar /usr/share/maven2/boot/classworlds-1.1.jar ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: maven2 2.2.1-2 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-21.32-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-21-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon May 3 14:31:44 2010 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: PATH=(custom, user) LANG=en_US.utf8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: maven2 ** Affects: maven2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- mvnDebug cannot find classworlds-1.1.jar https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574434 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 574432] [NEW] MPlay blast remote/VFD put in inconsistent state after reboot
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: lirc Not entirely sure if this issue is related to lirc or LCDproc, I have both installed on Lucid using a Zalman HD-135 case with the MPlay Blast VFD combined remote/LCD display unit. Both remote and display work when lirc and LCDproc are configured correctly (see files attached) The machine will boot with the red IR led on the display lit and when Ubuntu loads the unit is initialised and the light goes out (lighting briefly with each key press) On occasion the machine will boot and the unit does not get initalised, the light will stay lit and the remote will not function (the LCD display still will) Subsequent power downs will not fix the issue, nor does reinstalling lirc/LCDproc. The ONLY way I can get the remote functioning again is to boot into my XP virtual machine in VirtualBox, enable the usb device and install the windows driver/software. This detects the device and the IR light on the front of the display goes out and the remote starts functioning as usual. ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: lirc 0.8.6-0ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.32-22.33-generic 2.6.32.11+drm33.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.32-22-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: nvidia Architecture: amd64 Date: Mon May 3 13:23:26 2010 ProcEnviron: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash SourcePackage: lirc ** Affects: lirc (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug lucid -- MPlay blast remote/VFD put in inconsistent state after reboot https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/574432 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I read on the Ubuntu forums that if you repeat the installation through jockey it might work. I tried reinstalling the driver and then restarting the computer, and this time it worked fine. [Bug 573196] xkbcomp.txt
apport information ** Attachment added: xkbcomp.txt http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47545349/xkbcomp.txt ** Description changed: Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 10.04 Package: 2.1.4-0beta1-20100426-0ubuntu1~ppa0~lucid ProblemType: Session crash ProcCmdline: cairo-dock -O Window Manager: Compiz Desktop Environment: Gnome Video Card: Ati M R X300 So, when I launch the command cairo-dock -O (-O for use indirect rendering), ubuntu's session crashes and restarts. On the contrary, cairo-dock -c works properly (the dock appears correctly with cairo backend) and cairo-dock -o too but with some graphical problems (openGL backend, other bug with ati driver). You can found different logs (/var/log/Xorg.0* , /var/log/Xorg.failsafe.log* and ~/.xsession-errors*) here -- http://dl.free.fr/pu0g0saQK Thanks ! --- Architecture: i386 CurrentDmesg: [ 39.502144] ppdev: user-space parallel port driver [ 40.816175] b44: eth0: Link is up at 100 Mbps, full duplex.
