Re: [Bug 782496] Re: boinc crashes with "*** buffer overflow detected ***" on startup
Hi Swen, have many thanks for rerunning with symbols. @David: It's two bugs, confirmed on both 6.12.18 and 6.12.59 with Ubuntu. It is apparently caused by a circular path below /sys leading to an exceeded length of some internal path representation. The first bug is that the recursion was not noted (ten years ago I contributed that for WINE by collecting the inodes that have been visited, there may be better ideas now). The second bug is that BOINC should just spot the long path before there memory issue happens. I think I've found the problem. If I have an app like Pidgin maximized and then close it, but it keeps running (like pidgin does, or thunderbird if you have a "close to tray" add-on), the top bar will stop responding to window actions like slide and double-click to restore window, middle-click to minimise, etc... [Bug 782795] [NEW] GVIM is grouped into the pinned VirtualBox icon on the side bar.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity The GVIM window is grouped with the pinned VirtualBox icon on the side bar and does not have an icon of its own. I suspect this has to do with the way the task bar interprets names. There is no obvious or easy way to split the icons so each can be pinned as separate tasks. How to reproduce, Install VirtualBox-4.0 from Oracle Repo, however I suspect the OSE will work. Run VirtualBox and pin the task to the bar. Install vim-gnome run GVIM from the command line, it is not available in the search bar. The GVIM task will group with the VirtualBox icon. [Bug 772923] Re: BCM4312 on HP Mini 2133 freezes with Natty
Setting the user rights for wireless did not work for me either. I got my HP2133 to work by upgrading the Kernel to 2.6.39.0 and also installed Unity 2-D. I started off running Macbuntu on gnome but for some reason this Kernel set the panel to the legacy Ubuntu 7 style so I went Unity instead Upgrading the Kernel to 2.6.39.0 is described at: http://ubuntuguide.net/ubuntu-11-04-upgrade-linux-kernel-to-2-6-39-0 I figure to go up Kernel versions rather than down as there are probably overall additional improvements that make a better experience. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/772923 Title: BCM4312 on HP Mini 2133 freezes with Natty -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
