Funicorn's workaround also works for me (although it's technically a regression). But it appears to make external usb mice very jerky - eg. 3-4 fps or something, basically unusable. [Bug 794916] [NEW] initscript wrongly sets --script-security
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: openvpn The openvpn initscript wrongly sets --script-security 2 on the command line to handle backwards compatibility, even if script-security is specified in the config file. This Bug is only triggered, if openvpn starts multiple daemons. If the first daemon started does not have script-security in its configuration, the initscript sets script_security but does not reset it for subsequent daemons. [Bug 600178] Re: Screen tearing when dragging window, in videos and other large screen redraws (on nVidia GPU)
For some reason the attached workaround seems to work for some people (see http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1742643page=4) including me. I do not fancy having the whole screen redrawn on every repaint, but it seems rather interesting that it works. Also – the solution proposed in comment 41 (https://bugs.launchpad.net /nvidia-drivers-ubuntu/+bug/600178/comments/41) seems to indicate that vsync for OpenGL works even though the one for x-server does not. Unfortunately in dual-screen setup it only affects the main screen (DFP-0), while the secondary screen continues to show tearing. --- The mentioned workaround --- Open CompizConfig-settings manager (if you don't find it, just install it from Ubuntu Software Center). [Bug 794923] [NEW] Kubuntu network module doesn't allow writing an IPv6 DNS server
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager Not sure if this issue is related to NetworkManager package. I thin it's more related to Kubuntu network settings. I click in network settings icon in the systray, open my WiFi configuration and try to set a IPv6 (i.e: 2620:0:ccc::2) as DNS nameserver. The text box doesn't allow it to me as it seems to validate the input against an IPv4 regular expression. Neither writing an IPv6 referece (this is: [2620:0:ccc::2]) does the work. So honestly I don't know if it's an artificial limitation in KDE network module, or maybe it relies on NetworkManager itself which doesn't support an IPv6 as DNS nameserver. If the problem only appears occasionally and you have no clear way of triggering it, it's OK, and you can indicate so here. However, a bug is always more likely to get looked at and fixed when there's a clear way of triggering the problematic behavior. Today, I'm working on Odp files and the bug happened 3 times : 1. Adding a slide 2. Making a tool visible in a toolbar 3. no idea of the circonstances Each time I had to quit every LibreOffice module to free the Unity-dock. I twice tried to provoque the bug again but it did'nt repeat.
