[Bug 932687] Re: nfs4_reclaim_locks: unhandled error crashes applications and creates high load
We don't use networkmanager but configure the interfaces through /etc/network/interfaces all the time.. But we still have this problem. I figured out, that autofs-mounts have the correct clientaddr set while fstab mounts don't. Our fstab-mounts also have clientaddr=0.0.0.0. But when I manually unmount them and remount them, they get the right clientaddr but still the problem exists, at least we still have the error-messages in dmesg shown. I also found this redhat bugreport https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732748 which claims that the problem is fixed with these patches: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.linux.nfs/48705 . I used kernel 3.3.6-030306-generic now but we still have the nfs4_reclaim_open_state: Lock reclaim failed! messages in dmesg but no hang so far.. Does your workaround still work for you? Do you had any hangs or the error-messages in dmesg anymore? Does anyone know what the clientaddr-field is used for? ** Bug watch added: Red Hat Bugzilla #732748 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=732748 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/932687 Title: nfs4_reclaim_locks: unhandled error crashes applications and creates high load To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/932687/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 998087] Re: printer ERROR: invalidaccess OFFENDING COMMAND: filter
Steve, Till is looking into the possibility of providing an option to use the poppler tool as a workaround, I'll leave it to him to update on that when/if he has news. Obviously, in the long term, we'd like to resolve these issues that various printers have with the Postscript output from Ghostscript - note that Adobe CPSI consumes the GS output just fine, as does Adobe's Distiller, and several other Postscript interpreters. If I could ask you to attach a Postscript file here on which your printer gives this error - hopefully, Till can post the instructions on how to do that. After that, if you are willing, I'd like to give you some (possibly many!) Postscript files to send to your printer, to see if we can establish for sure what the problem is - if we can. [Bug 908335] Re: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
Additional information. I've also tried 12.04 on 3.2.0-24 with the Nouveau drivers in case it was related to Nvidia (which I must admit I thought it was), but the same issue occurred. @ Brendan Brigham - I'm not sure that this is the same issue because reading through the logs there it seems that the problem relates to heavy graphics use, and perhaps the Intel Ivy Bridge chipset. [Bug 970679] Re: [SRU] winbind coredumps when encountering a group with over 1000 members
** Description changed: Impact: winbind coredumps when encountering a group with more that 1000 members - this renders winbind unusable in deployments with 1000 users in a single group. Stable Fix: + Cherry picked patch from upstream VCS - see comments in Development fix. Test Case: + NOTE - hard to reproduce as requires deployment with large number of users/groups. Configure winbind to communicate with a Domain Controller with more that 1000 users getent group groupWithLessThan1000Members - OK getent group groupWithMoreThan1000Members - HANGS (coredumps recorded in syslog). [Bug 993420] Re: Ubuntu Login Form is Left of Visablity on the Login Screen
Sebastien, After login, the resolution is fine; it is only *during* the login screen that the login *form* is NOT visible. During installation, I did check the box that allows Ubuntu to use 3rd party packages. This problem occurred on the very first login AND all additional logins thereafter. I do vaguely recall changing the video driver from one (recommended) driver to another one that was newer but not recommended, but it was (however) listed, when going to System Settings Additional Drivers. As for nouveau, I do not recall ever trying that driver (by name). Again, this issue persists on my cousin's computer, and I'm only able to report back as frequently as I visit him. Last night, I submitted the apport-collect from his computer. [Bug 958385] Re: Encoding mismatch when mousetweaks is missing
Done testing 0.97.1 in Oneiric. Perhaps it's better to not do an SRU there. There is one notable regression in unity, to a lesser extent in gnome-shell (Metacity sessions are unaffected): With window decoration enabled, the keyboard window is lost for good when it's minimized by title bar button. GTK3 doesn't report iconifying there. On Precise something similar can happen, though for different reasons and there is a known workaround. Fixing this in 0.97.1 would most likely mean a separate code path for Oneric, I'd rather avoid that. Window decoration is disabled by default, though and everything else seems fine, including auto-show, screen-rotation and unlock screen logic. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958385 Title: Encoding mismatch when mousetweaks is missing To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/onboard/+bug/958385/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 998546] Re: Touch-screen did work on 11.04 but no longer works on 12.04
As feedback from upstream kernel guys, it is caused by x.org driver, instead of kernel. [Bug 981936] Re: 1217:00f7 Firewire prevents booting
Christopher, One more thing: I was told that the kernel bug-reporting instructions you referenced in comment #28 are incorrect. (See the initial discussion linked from the kernel bug.) What's the best way to get them updated? Should I simply email the page author, leannogasawara? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/981936 Title: 1217:00f7 Firewire prevents booting To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/981936/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 981936] Re: 1217:00f7 Firewire prevents booting
Actually *I'm* wrong about the bug reporting instructions being wrong. They're technically correct, but they seem to imply that one should go straight to the kernel bugzilla, instead of the kernel mailing lists. So it might still be useful to emphasise the use of the mailing lists for bug *reporting*.
[Bug 908335] Re: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often
The ideal scenario to help debugging this would be to get the kernel log during a system freeze through a serial console, but I guess your laptop does not have a serial port. The other thing that *could* help finding the cause of this issue would be to compare the logs of a kernel that is known to freeze the system with your laptop docked and un-docked. So, you could: - Un-dock your laptop, boot, and get the kernel logs - Dock your laptop, boot and get the kernel logs The important thing here is to use the same kernel in both runs, and to pick a kernel that is known to trigger the issue. Would you be able to append these two kernel logs to this bug report? You can get the kernel logs by simply booting and running dmesg kernel.log in a terminal. (This will create a file named kernel.log, that you should append to the bug report). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/908335 Title: Kernel Hard Freezing Very Often To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/908335/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 818675] Re: Please package the latest version of solr (3.5.0)
Why is it even in the repositories if the current release is around 2 years old? The package should be dropped if noone is going to maintain it, because then at least it doesn't give the (false) impression that you can get an up to date version from the repository. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/818675 Title: Please package the latest version of solr (3.5.0) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/solr/+bug/818675/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1000205] [NEW] Upgrade from 10.04 to 12.04 server brakes configuration of nslcd
Public bug reported: Doing a do-release-upgrade from 10.04 server to 12.04 server breaks the configuration in /etc/nslcd.conf. Custom modifications are partially commented out, at least the directive bindpw is commented out which leaves nslcd non functioning after the release upgrade. There was no question regarding overwriting the manually modified configuration file nor was the original one saved.
