Open the example document slide 2.

1) Click anywhere in the document.
Promote/demote buttons are not working (grayed out)

2) View Slide Master
- highlight all text in main window
- Format, Bullets and Numbering
- select Position tab
- highlight level 4
- set indent .20 with relative checked
- click OK
Doesn't work: open same dialog again and you'll see it didn't stick;
indent remains a large number

Thanks !

[Bug 1100546] Re: Power indicator favours 'not present' mouse over laptop battery level

2013-04-22 Thread TJ
The order is dictated by src/indicator-power.c. All power devices are
assigned a weighting, with batteries assigned weight 2, in function:

static int
get_device_kind_weight(const IndicatorPowerDevice * device) {...}

A function sorts all power devices in a list according to this criteria:

/* sort devices from most interesting to least interesting on this criteria:
   1. discharging items from least time remaining until most time remaining
   2. discharging items with an unknown time remaining
   3. charging items from most time left to charge to least time left to charge
   4. charging items with an unknown time remaining
   5. batteries, then non-line power, then line-power */
static gint
device_compare_func (gconstpointer ga, gconstpointer gb) {...}

Finally, the primary device is selected as the first in the sorted list:

IndicatorPowerDevice *
indicator_power_choose_primary_device (GSList * devices) {
...
  tmp = g_slist_sort (tmp, device_compare_func);
  primary = g_object_ref (tmp-data);
...
  return primary;
}

Examining /sys/class/power_supply/*/ it looks as if the sort function could
take into account the 'capacity' node of all batteries since it looks to be the
only common value shared across laptop and external device batteries. I've not
yet discovered the unit of measure so far though, so it might not be the most
suitable value.

$ for n in /sys/class/power_supply/*/capacity; do echo $n $(cat $n); done
/sys/class/power_supply/BAT0/capacity 116
/sys/class/power_supply/hid-00:12:a1:63:a8:50-battery/capacity 63

The key thing is to be able to recognise and differentiate the treatment of
internal laptop batteries (of which there can be more than one) from external
device batteries (mice, keyboard, headphones, etc.).

It may be that the simplest most flexible solution would be to add an
option to the Power Settings GUI that allows the user to make an
intelligent decision as to which battery/batteries they wish to be
considered as the primaries for purposes of the indicator icon.

Hi Eduards,

There are not any plans at this time to fix the WS issue you are seeing.
However, since you are more familiar with the issue than I, could you
please enter a new bug for this?

Thanks,
Chris

[Bug 1168273] Re: random black screen

2013-04-22 Thread Chris Wilson
The register dump confirms the logs in that no modeset was requested and
that the hardware is still driving the pipes as it was prior to the
black screen. As far as we can tell, the screen should still be lit up.

That suggests that something outside of the usual chain (and I suggest
-intel control) is interfering with the display.

2013-04-22 Thread Tom Thompson
When I toggle Boot Mode to Legacy Sup, a new field named Boot
Priority is created under it. This is different than the Boot
Priority Order further down the display. I have to toggle this new
field Boot Priority to Legacy Fir.

I did not have to set an admin password.

 Am I in the wrong place?

2013-04-22 Thread James Page
The conductor would not typically be co-located on the same node as
compute services so I don't think this is a missing dependency.

However worth adding to release notes.

Is there no way to provide sane migration here? SRUing something that
breaks people's configurations seems like a non-starter.

[Bug 1171476] [NEW] launcher count label pops out in auto-hide mode

The launcher count label pops out of the side from the launcher in auto-

[Bug 1171156] Re: debian/patches/git_reset_scrolling.patch is adversely affecting scrolling, particularly in gedit

2013-04-22 Thread Doug McMahon
Very hard to describe, sort of like while scrolling the window gets 'caught' at
times. Overall a minor issue but at least here was quite evident that
something had changed.
I initially thought maybe some recent update had caused some performance hit
until I noticed the gtk3 update reason behind.

The other area where again fairly obvious here is scrolling a long package list
in synaptic, again the scroll gets caught at times, it feels like the system is
struggling (which it's not.
Reverting the patch all is back to 'normal'.

Would like to note this is on a laptop touchpad where it is quite
impossible to duplicate the orig. bug

As far as this being a 'new' upstream bug', I guess one would need to try on a
3.8 build where the patch was committed, atm there is no available build, the
one in the gnome3 ppa is prior to it. As far as here now this was a 3.8 commit
applied to the 3.6.x source so don't see it as an upstream issue per se.
(tonight I'll patch build the 3.8 source try on a gnome 3.8 install to see
though that's not what 13.04 is using

(ot - in the short time to release this bug should be addressed, if the current
behavior is going to be changed by Thurs., great, otherwise I'd say it's a bit
of an embarrassment as it currently stands

[Bug 1170117] Re: [gm45] Xv video corruption when obstructed by shaped windows (corner case)

2013-04-22 Thread MMlosh
It was a bit harder to figure out the position of the topright fbrun
this time..

So far it seems to always work when the topright fbrun obstructs one of
the red blinking lights.

I was unable to reproduce easily with vlc, likely because of it's bottom status
bar preventing easy placement of the bottom-down fbrun

But I wasn't even able to reproduce with original mplayer!
I forgot to mention that I was using mplayer2

correction: fbrun should be obstructing one or more of the red blinking lights.
I usually position it over the three lights that are closer together.

[Bug 19625] Re: minor numbers 255 not supported

2013-04-22 Thread Lars
Hi there,

there seems to be a bug in the aoe driver version 47q.
It can use only aoe devices with minor number less than 16.
An aoe target configured with e.g.
major = 2
minor = 16

is shown as

major = 3

(target e2.17 is shown as e3.1 on client and so on)

This seems to be true with ubuntu server 12.04.2 LTS amd64 running
3.2.0-39-generic.

Thanks

[Bug 1109283] Re: [SRU] maas to Quantal and Precise

2013-04-22 Thread Andres Rodriguez
To be clear, MAAS as its currently stands in precise has a *broken*
implementation of DHCP/DNS when managed by cobbler. Most of the times it
did not work well out of the box and decreases the user experience.

That being said, all of the stakeholders were aware and had been
notified that when an upgrade was to be made available, it will require
to update the DHCP/DNS settings for those who run MAAS in precise with
cobbler managing DNS/DHCP (which is probably not the use case for most
of the installations). This is why Julian committed to providing
upgrading instructions to migrate cobbler existing configurations to
MAAS existing configurations. At least one member of the release team
was aware of this and was fine with it.

Cheers.

[Bug 1171492] [NEW] apt-cacher-ng corrupts Packages files

2013-04-22 Thread Chris J Arges
Public bug reported:

When using apt-cacher-ng, the Packages file downloaded is corrupted.
Restarting apt-cacher-ng fixes the issue.

Version affected: 0.7.2-1ubuntu2.1 in Precise.
Related debian bug: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=677983

According to the debian bug this was fixed with the following changelog
entries:

 apt-cacher-ng (0.7.7-1) experimental; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream releasee
 + pass-through mode for allowed hosts (LP: #647212)
 + possible fixes of file descriptor objects expiration (closes: #677983)

 apt-cacher-ng (0.7.7-2) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * Unstable upload (no changes, hope that it closes: #677983)

apt-cacher-ng (0.7.8-1) unstable; urgency=low
 .
   * New upstream release
 + improved redirection handling (closes: #683803)
 + workarounds for stuck download descriptors (now probably really
   closes:#677983)
   * Cron jobs displays max. 5 recent operation logs (LP: #1074474)

The trick is to find a minimal patch that fixes the issue for the
precise version.
