[Bug 1171506] [NEW] Unable to run java test applet in chromium, some applets not working in firefox
Public bug reported: Since Friday, when I updated to the latest icedtea-web package, Java applets are not working properly for me. This happens in both browsers, but they behave slightly differently. Here are two scenarios: 1. Chromium loading http://www.java.com/pt_BR/download/testjava.jsp Using a temporary profile chromium never is able to load the testjava applet. The question bar appears asking whether to run java, but when I click always run on this site the box where the plugin output appears doesn't run. Strangely, reloading the page later fails with a This webpage is not available message. 2. Chromium loading https://www2.bancobrasil.com.br/aapf/login.jsp?aapf.IDH=simperfil=1 Similar symptoms occur here -- the instructions Aguarde, iniciando o acesso... appear at the top of the page, but the login page which should come after never loads. In Firefox, I am able to load testjava.jsp, but the banking site, which is what I really want to get to, never loads. I'll attach an iIcedtea debug log. ** Affects: icedtea-web (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1171506 Title: Unable to run java test applet in chromium, some applets not working in firefox To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/icedtea-web/+bug/1171506/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I've uploaded to precise. Just waiting on sru approval now. Thanks Gunnar! I'll unsubscribe sponsors now. ** Description changed: - This is similar to #798277, however is a new problem. Please continue - reading. + [Impact] + With likewise-open installed, the pam environment may not be read, causing some environment variables like PATH or LANG to be incorrect. - Problem appears in lightdm 1.2.3-0ubuntu2. - Downgrading to 1.2.3-0ubuntu1 resolves the problem. - Upgrading to 1.2.3-0ubuntu2 again causes the problem to reappear. - - Steps to reproduce: + [Test Case] + 0. Install likewise-open 1. Login via lightdm 2. Open a terminal. 3. Run echo $PATH Expected result: the path contains the folder /usr/games like on earlier releases of Ubuntu. Actual result: PATH does not include /usr/games In addition, this causes PATH to not be set correctly after sudo. For instance, /usr/sbin is not in path after sudo. Once again, downgrading lightdm resolves the problem. + + [Regression Potential] + This patch affects pam configuration, so could theoretically regress login behavior. [Bug 1171156] Re: debian/patches/git_reset_scrolling.patch is adversely affecting scrolling, particularly in gedit
According to the tests made by Doug, it seems this patch introduces a more annoying problem than what we had with the previous version when using Compiz (and maybe others WM). This maybe means that it introduces unknown bugs or something is missing... Maybe more dangerous to use this version than using the previous? it's a bit late for GTK changes before release and that's not really a stopper But why is it a bit too late? It's just a revert to the previous version (we don't want to include a new patch). I agree that it's not stopper but it's not easy to scroll down when having a long list when using a touchpad (e.g. gedit, nautilus, etc. seem buggy and very slow). Why not a revert and then check why this new patch introduces this new bug? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1171156 Title: debian/patches/git_reset_scrolling.patch is adversely affecting scrolling, particularly in gedit To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gtk+3.0/+bug/1171156/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1171451] Re: Ubuntu 13.04 (raring) hangs on minimizing windows
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1171451/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.
