[Bug 1316121] [NEW] Resume from Suspend - X Crashes
Public bug reported: I have a fresh install of 14.04: Description:Ubuntu 14.04 LTS Release:14.04 When I try a suspend, when it comes back it looks fine. But rather soon X crashes. Sometimes ctrl-ALT F1 doesn't even work. Other times it does, I try killing X or lightdm but I'm not really sure I'm doing the right thing. Today, I had two different ways it crashed: I tried opening a video. Audio was playing in totem, but no video. It wouldn't close. Also today, I had a chrome window open. I clicked a dropdown and it didn't even display what was in the dropdown, it just froze everything. I am using gnome-metacity (since I'm not such a fan of unity). I have an nvidia card, but the nvidia drivers didn't seem to be configurable. I am using nouveu but setting the 2nd screen's resolution manually. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Tags: resume trusty ** Attachment added: Xorg.0.log https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316121/+attachment/4105587/+files/Xorg.0.log -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1316121 Title: Resume from Suspend - X Crashes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1316121/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1316124] [NEW] Actual Ubuntu Slapd totaly useless for serious use
Public bug reported: Please, as Debian recently (and finally ) do, ugrade/backport 2.4.39 to Ubuntu. 2.4.31 is two year old and full of know bugs critical in multi-server replication config. Even if 2.4.39 is not perfect, it is way more polished and usable than 2.4.31. We could not wait two more years the next LTS release to catch up. And I would like to avoid ./configure;make;make install. It would benefit upstream too as - actual Ubuntu users reports are useless for the developers because know old fixed bugs or from an outdated codebase - actual up to date codebase is not currently tested/used by Ubuntu users, not helping to move forward. [Bug 1307701] Re: Unity does not get touch events when QML apps running
One thing that smells fishy is that the qml app starts getting touch events even before compiz/unity7. I think that this should not happen as the qml app does not subscribe for ownership events (unlike compiz/unity7) and ownership is offered to compiz/unity7. So the qml app should only get touch events once compiz/unity7 rejects ownership of the touch sequence, but that's just not happening (qml app was already receiving events from that touch sequence by that time). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1307701 Title: Unity does not get touch events when QML apps running To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/oem-priority/+bug/1307701/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 1293569] Re: iwlwifi-7260-8.ucode causes network disconnections problems
On Sun, May 04, 2014 at 03:52:02PM -, Emmanuel Grumbach wrote: can someone have a sniffer capture of this? This would be very useful. One more point - if you can increase the debug level of the supplicant, this would be nice. If anyone wants to try this, I have a script which might help. It can be downloaded from http://people.canonical.com/~sforshee/wifi-debug. After downloading you need to do the following in a terminal after changing to the directory where you donwloaded the file: sudo apt-get install iw tshark chmod +x wifi-debug sudo ./wifi-debug -p Wait for the problem to occur, then press Ctrl-C and wait for the script to finish. After it completes you will have a file named wifi-debug-files.tar.gz with the requested data. Note that this file will be large (potentially very large if it runs for a long time) and may contain some private information, though WPA/WEP keys should not be present and data sent on an encrypted network will be encrypted. However you still may want to share the file in a less public way, e.g. upload it to dropbox or similar and send Emmanuel or me a link. And if anyone has the know-how to capture a sniff using a monitor interface on a separate machine, that would be preferable to the method used in the script. Thanks! Also, there are 2 -8 firmware. One is 22.15.8.0, the other one is 22.24.8.0. Can you please let me know which one you are using? The version appear at load time. [Bug 767745] Re: Audio stream to Apple airport express stutters
For me the streaming to the airport express box worked fine from 11.04 till 13.10. Since the upgrade to 14.04 streaming is unusable because of the stuttering. My setup: Kubuntu, phonon-backend-gstreamer, amarok. With phonon-backend-vlc the stuttering is even worse. I downgraded pulseaudio-module-raop from 1:4.0-0ubuntu10 (14.04) to 1:4.0-0ubuntu6 (13.10), but it doesn't help. My attempt to downgrade all pulseaudio/phonon related packages resulted in a broken sound system, even though the installation of the older packages succeeded. [Bug 983673] Re: me-tv-client doesn't interrupt screensaver
I am working with a fork of the 1.3.7 codebase. The current code for attempting to inhibit screen save/screen lock is some low level dbus C code. I am looking to replace this with C++ Gio::DBus code given this is supposed to be a C++ application :-) I am using GNOME Shell so the current org.gnome.ScreenSaver code is basically a no-op, even using the more general org.freedesktop.ScreenSaver. I am experimenting with org.gnome.SessionManager.Inhibit just now. I have no way of working on Ubuntu or any other system so someone else will have to drive experiments on those platforms. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/983673 Title: me-tv-client doesn't interrupt screensaver To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/me-tv/+bug/983673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1316151] [NEW] Compiz Grid plugin places the window in the wrong display
Public bug reported: After upgrading to 14.04 LTS, compiz Grid plugin is not producing the expected behavior. I am using the defalut keyboard shortcts to place windows on the left/right of the current display. Placing on the left side works properly; however, when I have a window on my left-side Display, and I press ControlAltKP6 to put it on the right side of the display, one of these three events happen at random: * Sometimes it works correctly and places the window on the right half of the screen. * More often, it puts the window on the right-half of the *other display*. * Sometimes it puts the window on the right side of the same dispaly, but with a one-inch margin on the right side (so not touching the edge of the display). [Bug 1310823] Re: [Dell Inspiron 1525] Ubuntu freezes when lid closed
Back from vacations and it's looks like the issue is not or not entirely in kernel. I'm back to 3.13.0-24-generic and just installed gnome-shell 3.12 and the problem is gone. I can now safely close and open the lid. So, looks like that at least a 'trigger' for the freeze is somewhere in Unity/compiz. Gonna try again several different kernels. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1310823 Title: [Dell Inspiron 1525] Ubuntu freezes when lid closed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1310823/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1315575] Re: poor wireless connection with current kernel
apport information ** Tags added: apport-collected trusty ** Description changed: The new 3.13 kernel that came with kubuntu 14.04 creates some kind of issue with my internet connection. I get severe lag and stalled connections. I mostly noticed playing online games but also see package d/l progress pause/freeze during apt upgrades and sometimes my browser will not connect. The same day I upgraded there were no issues at all, now they are there. I found out it must be the kernel as i am currently using 3.11.0-19 and the issues have vanished.
