[Bug 1477276] Re: Touch functionality of touch screen enabled when screen is off and display closed.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1477276/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1477217] Re: Crash while trying to install Kubuntu in VirtualBox vm.
I may have found the solution. The default disk size for Ubuntu VMs in VirtualBox is 8 GB, which seems to be on the low side. Apparently the Kubuntu installer can't deal with that restriction. (Making half of it an unnecessary swap partition on the first round is clearly a symptom of this problem!) I have now been successful with a 30 GB disk, while everything else was the same. To the extent that there is a bug, it appears to be that the Kubuntu installer may fail in a non-constructive way on an 8 GB disk. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477217 Title: Crash while trying to install Kubuntu in VirtualBox vm. [Bug 1470250] Re: [Hyper-V] Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS Generation 2 SCSI Errors on VSS Based Backups
@dander88 According to @jrp the message Received an indication that the operating parameters on this target have changed. The Linux SCSI layer does not automatically adjust these parameters. is beneign. He mentioned that in bug 1445195. Are you just seeing that message or do your systems also go into read- only mode? From my point of view the SCSI message has no significance to the read-only bug. The message also pops up with successful backups. @h-lbuntu-2 What kind of bug do you mean? Also the SCSiI message? Or do you also have read-only problems? @cohn I would install them all. Be aware you might have to ignore dependencies when you are on 14.04 and go to kernel 3.19, e.g. binutils. Run dpkg --ignore-depends=binutils -i *.deb to install them. [Bug 1048430] Re: dnsmasq not available on the bus
I also encounter this bug on fresh Kubuntu 15.04 install. I'm on SSD I don't know if the daemons starting speed has somthing to do with this. I suppose NM gets the DNS info (from DHCP), tries to notify dnsmasq. Since dnsmasq is not yet started it launches it but I don't see any retry afterwards to send DNS info to dnsmasq once started. The symptoms for me are working IP stacks (both 4 and 6), correct routing, but with all DNS requests refused (by 127.0.1.1). Restarting NM after makes everything work as expected (dnsmasq is then already started) How can I see if NM retries to pass the DNS info to dnsmasq once started ? That's what I get on boot, nothing about NM or dnsmasq after, until I restart NM service. juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: info NetworkManager state is now CONNECTED_LOCAL juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: info NetworkManager state is now CONNECTED_GLOBAL juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: info Policy set 'Connexion filaire 1' (eth0) as default for IPv6 routing and DNS. juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: info DNS: starting dnsmasq... juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: warn dnsmasq not available on the bus, can't update servers. juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: error [1437550037.972824] [dns-manager/nm-dns-dnsmasq.c:398] update(): dnsmasq owner juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: warn DNS: plugin dnsmasq update failed juil. 22 09:27:17 architect NetworkManager[973]: info Writing DNS information to /sbin/resolvconf juil. 22 09:27:17 architect whoopsie[946]: [09:27:17] Cannot reach: https://daisy.ubuntu.com juil. 22 09:27:18 architect kernel: random: nonblocking pool is initialized juil. 22 09:27:18 architect org.kde.kded5[1135]: Saving -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1048430 Title: dnsmasq not available on the bus To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/1048430/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1476201] Re: Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters
Silly me. Mir seems to be behaving correctly, although I can think of some improvements. The real issue here is that dynamic double buffering relies on the compositor (over)scheduling enough frames for the performance detection to work. That means calling: mir::compositor::Scene::frames_pending() and compositing that many frames as a _minimum_. We just haven't added support for the algorithm fully to qtmir's compositor code yet. ** Also affects: qtmir Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: qtmir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: qtmir Importance: Undecided = High ** Changed in: qtmir (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Summary changed: - Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters + Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters instead of scaling up to triple buffers. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1476201 Title: Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters instead of scaling up to triple buffers. [Bug 1476201] Re: Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters instead of scaling up to triple buffers.
Actually qtmir can possibly keep using if (m_surface-buffers_ready_for_compositor(userId) 0) as it does already. The problem then is that Mir reduces the return value of that function prematurely if called in that way. So maybe some fix is still possible in Mir itself. ** Changed in: qtmir Status: New = Opinion ** Changed in: qtmir (Ubuntu) Status: New = Opinion -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1476201 Title: Dynamic double buffering fails to detect inertial dash scrolling as slow; and stutters instead of scaling up to triple buffers. [Bug 1461879] Re: Cannot recreate md1 if partitions (ie: md1p1, md1p2) detected
Hi, I had exactly the same behavour with 14.04 if any pre-existing raids were present. Installer fails with: partman-auto-raid: Error: incorrect directory for /dev/mdXXX I can only confirm that wiping disks with dd gets you passed this, however, using mdadm to zero the superblock instead may just work, I have not tested this. [Bug 1365695] Re: No longer able to use GUI after update
In my situation (and old GeForce Go 6400), with a fresh install of ubuntu 14.04 (some weeks ago all worked ok): 1) with nouveau drivers I can login but using dash hangs X (strange visual effects) 2) switching to nvidia makes screen blank at login I only solved switching to gnome from unity. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1365695 Title: No longer able to use GUI after update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nvidia-graphics-drivers-304-updates/+bug/1365695/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
