but the distro driver still is hardware accelerated That's what I doubt. How can I test and make sure it's not somehow falling back to emulating openGL in CPU? This doesn't happen to me in any other Ubuntu distribution or fork, only Lubuntu. What happens is that the driver is in fact installed but isn't reading the configuration of my actual card installed. It gives the maximum resolution settings of 4k, which this specific card isn't capable of at all. I've tried the old hold over of using; sudo amdconfig -f --initial That normally will fix my problem after I reboot the machine but in this case, it does not. I know my card is 100% compatible with this driver from AMD as it works in Xubuntu 15.04 32-bit 686 64-bit x86_64 kernels flawlessly. [Bug 1457852] Re: [Dell Optiplex 9020] Shut down causes restart if USB3 enabled
I have a dell laptop with similar behaviours. However, I can fix it by modifying the PCI register offset 0xA4 on LPC (ex. 00:1f.0 ISA bridge). You can use lfdk (see http://alexhungdmz.blogspot.tw/2015/06/uitlity- reading-and-writing-pci-io-and.html) to modify the PCI register. Please change BIT15 of 0xA4 (more BIT7 of 0xA5). For example, it was 0x28 and I modified it to 0xB8 (please refer to attached screenshot). This bit (called PME_B0_S5_DIS) is reset by RTCRST# (RTC reset) and normally that does not happen. It will stay as long as RTC has power or is written by again. I can also check your PCI registers if you can upload output of sudo lspci -xxx ** Attachment added: pci.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1457852/+attachment/4446781/+files/pci.png -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457852 Title: [Dell Optiplex 9020] Shut down causes restart if USB3 enabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1457852/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1483752] Re: Trusted prompts make application inactive: Qt.application.active == false
@John theoreticaly the camera app could handle this, but I think we have a work-around, as well as a proper fix in the works. This branch is a work-around. https://code.launchpad.net/~josharenson/unity8/fix_tps_active I'm not quite sure what the far reaching implications of this fix are yet. However, I have performed some manual/automated testing, and I certainly don't see anything obviously wrong. I'm going to kick off a ci build for it in a bit as well (for even more automated testing) This branch contains the proper fix. https://code.launchpad.net/~dandrader/qtmir/mirSurface/+merge/264923 It removes the same code that the first branch does, but it depends on 2 other branches (in two different projects), so getting it landed will take some effort. I imagine that the first branch should work, in a pinch, but I'd appreciate confirmation from dandrader. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1483752 Title: Trusted prompts make application inactive: Qt.application.active == false To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/canonical-devices-system-image/+bug/1483752/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

In this case, it's usually this one: 3.19.0-15-generic The work around (in terminal /konsole): The offending packages are the following that cause that error: linux-headers-3.19.0-26 linux-headers-3.19.0-26-generic linux-image-3.19.0-26-generic linux-image-extra-3.19.0-26-generic The old packages for the older kernel when it did work: linux-headers-3.19.0-15 linux-headers-3.19.0-15-generic linux-image-3.19.0-15-generic linux-image-extra-3.19.0-15-generic What you do is this (if it says they're already installed don't worry, this is also for people those purged these packages from before): sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install -y linux-headers-3.19.0-15 linux-headers-3.19.0-15-generic linux-image-3.19.0-15-generic linux-image-extra-3.19.0-15-generic sudo apt-get purge -y linux-headers-3.19.0-26 linux-headers-3.19.0-26-generic linux-image-3.19.0-26-generic linux-image-extra-3.19.0-26-generic sudo update-grub2 When this is done, you might get an error about the grub hidden timeout being set to a non zero number is no longer supported, that's not a real problem, I can tell you how to fix it if it really bothers you, though. Now, that all of this is done: Close all your open applications and type in: sudo reboot When Ubuntu and forks reboots, login or let the auto login script bring you to the desktop. Assuming you have the AMD / ATI Catalyst installed: (in terminal / konsole): sudo amdcccle When it opens, check all your setting and if you need to make changes do so at this time, since you're running as a super user, you can also change the resolution should you feel you need to do this at this time. When done, close that application and start Steam. From here, you should be fine. Just make sure that when you go to update your system, to not allow that bad kernel to be installed onto your system again. I recommend using Synaptic package manager to deal with unruly packages. You can pick and choose what packages are updated and which are left well enough alone. I'm not entirely sure if this would be a bug or a side effect of intended changes in focus behavior - the problem being that the UX for this is not final yet - we will have many components only taking focus via keyboard not on tab/ click only. This issue appears to be an upstream bug, since you tested the latest upstream kernel. Would it be possible for you to open an upstream bug report[0]? That will allow the upstream Developers to examine the issue, and may provide a quicker resolution to the bug. Please follow the instructions on the wiki page[0]. [Bug 1486296] [NEW] Unable to start VMs under a lxc container
Public bug reported: Our installer attempts to load VM's within an lxc container. This worked on trusty, however, with the latest releases from vivid and wily those VM's are unable to start. This affects running juju-local within a container as well. We think it has something to do with cgmanager/cgproxy, however, we can manually run and launch qemu just fine within the container. This could potentially be an issue with libvirt attempt to set cgroup values for the qemu processes. The current workaround to get a VM to start within a vivid and wily container running LXC 1.1.2+ is to disable cgroups in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf I'm starting this bug and will ask Ryan Harper to provide a more in- depth result of his debugging, but, wanted to have this on the radar. [Bug 1452318] Re: Faulty behavior when resuming from suspend
I confirm this problem with xserver-xorg-video-intel version 2:2.99.917 (the latest version at time of writing). When I run in SNA mode, everything works perfectly until the machine resumes from suspend. After this everything becomes unbearably sluggish and it seems hardware acceleration no longer works (slow scrolling, video playback doesn't work, etc). Also once in a while I get the artifacts other people describe (distorted fonts, weird window titles, etc). This doesn't always happen though. This bug also seems to occur even without suspending, when using it for sufficiently long time, probably triggered by something (at this point not sure what). I tried to change to UXA mode which only partly solves the problem. Here I don't get the weird artifacts, but the hardware acceleration doesn't seem to work at all (no video acceleration, weird scroll even in file manager, etc). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1452318 Title: Faulty behavior when resuming from suspend To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/1452318/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1477086] Re: DBus 1.10
From the AppArmor perspective, the 1.9.20 debdiff gets the green light. I installed the packages from your ppa and then was able to successfully run the dbus_*.sh tests in the AppArmor regression test suite (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~apparmor- dev/apparmor/master/files/head:/tests/regression/apparmor/). Also, the AppArmor mediation tests in the QRT test-dbus.py script (http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-bugcontrol/qa-regression- testing/master/view/head:/scripts/test-dbus.py) passed. The test-dbus.py script did catch something unrelated to AppArmor. First, the test/tap-test.sh.in file isn't shipped in the release tarball (https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91684) so `make check` will always fail. However, even after pulling in that file from the git tree, `make check` is still failing on the test-bus.sh test. It probably isn't worth blocking the upload over but I wanted to mention it. ** Bug watch added: freedesktop.org Bugzilla #91684 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=91684 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1477086 Title: DBus 1.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dbus/+bug/1477086/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.2 kernel[0]. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as Confirmed. Thanks in advance.
