[Bug 1523917] Re: Macbook Air 6.2 suspend immediately resumes
Solved on my end by stopping XHC (bluetooth related) from allowing the macbook to resume. To solve permanently create a file called '/etc/udev/rules.d/90-xhc_sleep.rules' and put the following in that file: #-- # disable wake from S3 on XHC1 SUBSYSTEM=="pci", KERNEL==":00:14.0", ATTR{power/wakeup}="disabled" #-- After a reboot the problem has gone away. The original reporter had this in his dmesg: > [ 946.610514] thunderbolt :07:00.0: suspend finished > [ 946.611183] xhci_hcd :00:14.0: System wakeup enabled by ACPI Meaning that right after the suspend was completed, the machine got woken up by xhci_hcd. [Bug 1342123] Re: evolution-calendar-factory always running with high memory usage
If anyone is interested in a workaround, here's something that seems to work on my Ubuntu install. I noticed that running /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory by itself manually will cause it to perform some initializations and terminate after a few seconds. I'm not using any calendar-related services. Registering ECalBackendContactsEventsFactory ('contacts:VEVENT') <> Registering ECalBackendCalDAVTodosFactory ('caldav:VTODO') Server is up and running... Bus name 'org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4' acquired. Bye. I also noticed that if I ran /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar- factory while there is already an instance running, the new instance will take over the 'org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4' bus and will cause the older one to terminate: Registering ECalBackendContactsEventsFactory ('contacts:VEVENT') <> Registering ECalBackendCalDAVTodosFactory ('caldav:VTODO') Server is up and running... Bus name 'org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4' acquired. <> Bus name 'org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4' lost. Bye. Since I'm not using any calendar-related services, I added a startup item via GUI that invokes /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory without any options: > cat ~/.config/autostart/evolution-calendar-factory.desktop [Desktop Entry] Type=Application Exec=/usr/lib/evolution/evolution-calendar-factory Hidden=false NoDisplay=false X-GNOME-Autostart-enabled=true Name=Workaround for evolution-calendar-factory This causes the original "stuck" startup process to lose its hold on org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4 and terminate. This workaround is a lot less invasive than the suggestions I have seen elsewhere to uninstall packages or remove the file's execute bit, since org.gnome.evolution.dataserver.Calendar4 will still be available. Again, this is a workaround. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find out what causes the process to be stuck in the first place, or whether or not it really needs to run all the time. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1342123 Title: evolution-calendar-factory always running with high memory usage To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/evolution-data-server/+bug/1342123/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1228567] Re: at-spi2 daemon error messages in .xsession-errors
Extremely frustrating. I had updated to Trusty 14.04 , and upgraded the linux kernel to 3.13.0.77-lowlatency After 2 days of searching on the internet, and all suggested fixes failed, I finally compared line for line the ownership and permissions of .config/dconf in the home directory of one user (emil) where this annoying behavior did not occur with the corresponding .config/dconf of the second user (sharon) where the immediate logout after login behavior occurred with gnome classic desktop (either compiz or metacity). I moved sharon's dconf directory out of .config renaming it dconf.old Then I copied all of user emil's dconf to user sharon and meticuously did sudo chown and sudo chmod on the new .config/dconf in sharon's home directory making sure all the ownership and permissions were identical for this user as they were for the first one. Then I rebooted. That did the trick. Of course, user sharon lost her personalized gnome window settings which were replaced by those of user emil, but these can be recustomized without problem. This seems to me a fairly drastic and unusual step to have to take on a distribution upgrade. I have found no other solution, so I consider this a bug I hope someone will look into. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1228567 Title: at-spi2 daemon error messages in .xsession-errors To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/at-spi2-core/+bug/1228567/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hello Robert, or anyone else affected, Accepted cloud-init into wily-proposed. The package will build now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud- init/0.7.7~bzr1149-0ubuntu6 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository. Please help us by testing this new package. See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. Further information regarding the verification process can be found at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . [Bug 1543254] [NEW] Wifi disconnects and my wifi is missing from list so I cannot connect to it
Public bug reported: For a few times a day, my wifi disconnects. If I try to connect to it manually, I cannot do that as it is missing from the list with nearby connections. I have discovered a way to connect by going to Connect to hidden Wifi Connection, select the dropdown and chose from that list my home wifi network. It works. But of course, a few hours later, it will disconnect and I have to do this again. I should mention that my wifi is not a hidden one, never has been. See the attached screen recording. It happened the same on the old laptop (Atheros Communications Inc. AR9285) and the same on the new one (Intel Corporation Wireless 3165). The bug is quite old, I think it was a few Ubuntu versions behind, too. I also tried, in Xenial, linux-image-4.4.0-2-generic and that failed. Setting /proc/sys/net/ipv4/xfrm4_gc_thresh to 5 causes the failure almost immediately. I would like to confirm my procedure however. I've been changing /proc/sys/net/ipv4/xfrm4_gc_thresh inside the containers, not the host. [Bug 1540135] Re: Make this metapackage conflict with kaccounts-providers
On a second thought, the filtering could just as well be done on top of libaccounts, in the actual account gui (uoa and kaccounts). There the filtering is a matter of simple code in QSortFilterProxyModel (we already have one there anyway). This way the KDE providers would never show up in uoa and vice-versa. I'm not entirely sure what happens when you change the provider file name and keep the content the same - will everything just continue to work? Or will the accounts need to be recreated? [Bug 1543307] [NEW] Improve "Your system is running in low-graphics mode"
Public bug reported: The "Your system is running in low-graphics mode" affects of a lot of users and can be cause by literally thousand of issues regarding graphics (query askubuntu.com if interested). That already starts the list of issues with this particular dialog and the situation Ubuntu users are put into: * One dialog with the same message for thousands of causes. Something has to be wrong here. There's a reason for everything, at least in IT, and it can be communicated - except maybe if the screen isn't plugged in, but that's why we have IT support. -> be useful explain what's wrong. It doesn't matter if multiple packages are involved - cooperate! Everything runs in processes and they have return codes and they can be investigated and interpreted and finally transformed into useful error messages - every error of any dependency! * The sentence "... You will need to configure these yourself" could only be more rude if there was a middle finger created with characters in cowsay manner -> be helpful, add a wizard to create the settings (instructions like http://askubuntu.com/questions/141606/how-to-fix-the-system-is-running-in-low-graphics-mode-error shouldn't be that hard to be transformed into a script and it'd help thousands of Ubuntu users which will one day end up with the "low graphics" dialog). Ubuntu is a desktop OS, not a middle finger OS, I'd even say very, very far from it, but exaggeration illustrates. * The dialog - I've experienced it hundreds of times - is only very rarely responsive to mouse input -> improve testing and harden this crucial piece of software. * There's not single display manager which provides useful logs - not only because they all have multiple log files with unintuitive names and don't explain their relation in the manpage, but also because they're spreading the messages over files like a water sprinkler (e.g. `lightdm`'s `lightdm.log would contain the failure of parsing a configuration file and its `x-0.log` contains the reaction of the process - makes you wonder where else could useful information be hidden...) -> no idea what to do here since the display manager can't be rewritten from scratch and are all waiting to work with wayland anyway ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.10 Package: xorg 1:7.7+7ubuntu4 Uname: Linux 4.3.0-040300-generic x86_64 .tmp.unity.support.test.0: ApportVersion: 2.19.1-0ubuntu5 Architecture: amd64 CompizPlugins: No value set for `/apps/compiz-1/general/screen0/options/active_plugins' CompositorRunning: None CurrentDesktop: GNOME Date: Mon Feb 8 22:45:24 2016 DistUpgraded: 2015-11-19 14:19:26,522 DEBUG enabling apt cron job DistroCodename: wily DistroVariant: ubuntu ExtraDebuggingInterest: Yes, including running git bisection searches GraphicsCard: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:3903] NVIDIA Corporation GF119M [GeForce 610M] [10de:1058] (rev a1) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Lenovo Device [17aa:3903] InstallationDate: Installed on 2013-10-17 (844 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 13.04 "Raring Ringtail" - Release amd64 (20130424) MachineType: LENOVO IdeaPad U410 ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-4.3.0-040300-generic root=UUID=8c488557-8173-43a2-a3a8-df0a24695c08 ro rootflags=subvol=ubuntu-main-root quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: xorg Symptom: display UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to wily on 2015-11-19 (81 days ago) dmi.bios.date: 09/25/2012 dmi.bios.vendor: Phoenix Technologies Ltd. dmi.bios.version: 65CN90WW dmi.board.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.board.name: Lenovo dmi.board.vendor: LENOVO dmi.board.version: 3193WIN8 STD MLT dmi.chassis.asset.tag: No Asset Tag dmi.chassis.type: 10 dmi.chassis.vendor: LENOVO dmi.chassis.version: Lenovo U410 dmi.modalias: dmi:bvnPhoenixTechnologiesLtd.:bvr65CN90WW:bd09/25/2012:svnLENOVO:pnIdeaPadU410:pvrLenovoU410:rvnLENOVO:rnLenovo:rvr3193WIN8STDMLT:cvnLENOVO:ct10:cvrLenovoU410: dmi.product.name: IdeaPad U410 dmi.product.version: Lenovo U410 dmi.sys.vendor: LENOVO version.compiz: compiz 1:0.9.12.2+15.10.20151202-0ubuntu1 version.ia32-libs: ia32-libs N/A version.libdrm2: libdrm2 2.4.64-1 version.libgl1-mesa-dri: libgl1-mesa-dri 11.0.2-1ubuntu4 version.libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental: libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental N/A version.libgl1-mesa-glx: libgl1-mesa-glx 11.0.2-1ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-core: xserver-xorg-core 2:1.17.2-1ubuntu9.1 version.xserver-xorg-input-evdev: xserver-xorg-input-evdev 1:2.9.2-1ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-ati: xserver-xorg-video-ati 1:7.5.0+git20150819-0ubuntu1 version.xserver-xorg-video-intel: xserver-xorg-video-intel 2:2.99.917+git20150808-0ubuntu4 version.xserver-xorg-video-nouveau: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau 1:1.0.11-1ubuntu3 xserver.bootTime: Mon Feb 8 22:35:51 2016 xserver.configfile: /etc/X11/xorg.conf xserver.devices: xserver.logfile: /var/log/Xorg.0.log xserver.outputs:
